Waspinator is bumbling, cowardly, and completely inept. It is never canonically explained why exactly he is recruited for a mission to a distant planet, so we have to assume that Megatron was just desperate. For all his flaws, he is not deeply cruel, something that seems to be unusual in a Predacon. He is fully aware of his particular lot in life, and his inability to change it. He wishes he could. Oh, how he wishes. Despite his cursed luck, he manages to be fairly optimistic, and relishes the small things that go well. ["Today is a good day! Waspinator not get shot at all!"] His Predacon programming, however, means that friendship is a foreign concept to him. He understands that other people have it, he just can't recognize it in his own mind. The closest that he can get it is the concept of favours, or loyalty. If you do something nice for him, especially unbidden, he'll feel attached to you. If you do something unkind, especially unbidden, he will turn into a whiny pile of resentment. This is easily the best way to get him to work for you, as he's too much of a coward to tell you to cut it out. If he knows that somebody is more powerful than him, he'll be very, very nervous around them. Unless he's more familiar, in which case he'll be nervous but just a little snarky. Because his own are so obvious, he loves knowing other people's weaknesses, and will taunt them mercilessly about them.
✖ Motivation
Waspinator's motivations are all physical. His main motivation is to not get physically hurt. He's well acquainted with it, and would like to avoid it as much as possible. His experiences with emotional pain are far and few between, usually stemming from the fact that everyone died. Then again, he seemed to take this pretty well at the time, so apart from the occasional sentiment of 'Too bad', it doesn't seem to have followed him very far. Betrayal on anyone's part towards him may inspire anger, but never shock. It's just too commonplace among Predacons. Any other decisions are made to chase down vices; sweet food, joyflights, and shiny trinkets. He gets very possessive of the shiny trinkets, probably because as a soldier, all belongings were property of the Predacon Cause (i.e. Megatron).
